چکیده

In this paper, we discuss the need for the next generation transport layer. TCP and UDP were designed over 20 years ago. There have been signiicant changes in the Internet since then in terms of size, types of applications, quality of links, technology, and heterogeneity of the network. Several new transport protocols have been proposed in the last two decades. But most of them were designed to handle one class of applications in a speciic network environment. There haven't been many attempts at designing a general purpose protocol like TCP or UDP. Ever since IETF decided the IP Version 6 standard , some researchers have felt the need for next generation transport protocol. In this paper, we take a fresh look at the issues involved for designing a new transport protocol.

A Study on Neodymium Recovery from Aqueous Solutions for Designing a New Generation of Sandwich Liquid Membrane

Liquid Membrane (LM) based processes, as Supported Liquid Membranes (SLMs), have been proposed, for over 30 years, as effective methods for the selective separation of inorganic/organic species from different water streams. The industrial use of SLMs has been limited mainly by their insufcient stability. To investigate on the main cause of system destabilization and the o...

A survey on QoS based Routers for Next Generation Network (NGN)

In non-stationary environment, dynamic resource reservation schemes Operating in harmony with the variability in demand patterns may provide efficient mechanisms for resource utilization and guarantee QoS compliance. In this proposed work we identify the challenges that need to be addressed in designing a three level core which consists of policy making, packet queuing and forwarding and resour...

- - - - XTP / PE Design Considerations †

The Xpress Transfer Protocol, XTP, is an approach to protocol design for next generation networks. The Protocol Engine, PE, is a hardware architecture for implementing network protocols and system interfaces using VLSI techniques. The two projects are related: XTP is designed with a PE in mind. This paper presents some of the ideas and goals in XTP. Introduction XTP [1] represents a compromise ...
